Turner Moving fulfilled all my expectations. The move went as scheduled with no issues. Their local team and driver are the best, with the four men loading the truck accomplishing the task in less than 5 hours. Nothing was damaged, broken or lost. From the estimators visit, to the office staff, to the driver, everyone worked together and checked on us every step of the way to guarantee success. After reading reviews and not finding a single negative one, I knew I had found the right company and did not look any further. We moved from California to Michigan and so it was a costly move, but one I felt was fairly priced.

They met or exceeded my expectation. I unequivocally recommend them for any job and hope to use them again to move back!!!

Turner moving and storage is a helpful, honest, and trustworthy company. They recently helped us move from the San Francisco Bay Area, California, to north central, Florida. They were very helpful in every step of the moving process. Their intake worker Amanda was very helpful as well as their driver, JC.
The long-distance moving process in Napa Valley begins with receiving a quote after a detailed survey of all items to be moved. This is followed by being assigned a moving specialist who will guide you through the entire process and help tailor the services to your needs. If opting for packing services, professional packers will come a couple of days before the move to meticulously pack all your belongings. On moving day, a skilled crew will arrive to load the items into the truck, ensuring that everything is secure for transport. Your belongings are then transported to the new home, and the unloading process is carefully overseen. Throughout the move, vital documents such as the Order of Service and the Bill of Lading will be provided, keeping a clear record of all services and costs. Finally, the move is concluded with a final walkthrough and confirmation with the team leader, making sure that everything is in place and that all terms of the moving agreement have been met.
“Keep in mind Long-Distance moves are based on weight and distance. Decluttering before your move will help lower costs in the long run.”

Long-distance moves from Napa Valley can vary significantly in cost based on factors such as distance, the weight of the items being moved, how far you are moving, and any extra services required. MoveBuddha states, “If you’re moving out of California, the cost of Napa long-distance movers is largely impacted by how far you’re moving.“ Generally, moving to another state from California may range from $3,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the specific needs and choices made during the move. The standard recommendation is to get at least three moving quotes. This allows you to know that you are getting a fair price on your move.

With Turner Moving & Storage, customers can expect absolutely no hidden costs, making budgeting for a long-distance move more straightforward. Generally, an out-of-state move includes the transportation of your belongings, loading and unloading, and basic liability coverage. This Forbes article explains, “Many movers provide full-service packing and unpacking, using high-quality materials to ensure your items are secure.” Extra services like packing and unpacking, special handling for fragile or difficult-to-move items, storage solutions, and extra valuation coverage are usually considered add-ons and cost extra. The extra cost will vary depending on the moving company and the specifics of what you need.
For those choosing Turner Moving & Storage, we offer various services, including packing and unpacking as an add-on. Our services are extensive, ranging from local moving to international moving and even last-minute moving. Packing supplies play a crucial role in protecting belongings during a long-distance move. Your packers should be expertly trained, as well as making use of specialized boxes and moving blankets, wrapping up your items carefully. Your movers should use a dolly for careful loading and unloading, as well as a professional moving truck with the right padding to keep your belongings protected. “From bubble wrap and boxes to packing tape and foam cushioning, your packers will bring the very best moving supplies and equipment to ensure all of your belongings are properly protected and boxed up securely,” notes Moving.com.

In accordance with government regulation, all Napa Valley moving companies must provide valuation coverage at 60 cents per pound per item. There are generally two types of valuation for a move: Limited Liability Coverage, which is the minimum required by law, and Full Value Protection, which provides more comprehensive coverage with full reimbursement, repair, or replacement for all damaged items. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration states, “Under Full Value Protection, your mover is responsible for the replacement value of lost or damaged goods in your entire shipment.” Not all movers offer Full Value Protection, but most do, as they realize that this is not enough coverage for many people moving.
Turner Moving & Storage complies with these regulations, offering both Limited Liability Coverage and Full Value Protection options. You can also declare your high-value belongings as Items of Extraordinary Value, which are items worth over $100 per pound per item. Be sure to speak with your dedicated moving specialist about this. “You’ll be fully informed of your coverage options to choose the best protection for your valuables,” emphasizes our CEO, Randy Turner.

An out-of-state move can take varying amounts of time, depending on factors like distance and load size. You can expect your long-distance move to take about 3-14 days. For an especially far move, such as one over 1700 miles, you can expect it to take up to three weeks. However, this can vary quite a bit, so be sure to communicate with your movers about how long the move is expected to take. This Indeed article explains, “It’s impossible to anticipate every possible roadblock that can cause problems on moving day. Building in extra time and putting a buffer in your budget for your move can help account for any delays or costly issues.”
With Turner Moving & Storage, the timeframe is carefully calculated, considering the specifics of the move. We ensure a timely relocation by doing an in-depth survey of what your move entails to provide you with an accurate time estimate. As an interstate agent of Wheaton World Wide Moving, we have access to hundreds of agents coast to coast that streamline the long-distance moving process. “Our coast-to-coast network ensures that we can complete your move as efficiently as possible,” emphasizes our CEO, Randy Turner.

Handling fragile items requires expertise and specialized training. Professional movers are typically trained in packing techniques that maximize the safety of delicate items like glassware, artwork, and electronics. This includes packing and handling of these items. The training of your movers will be paired with professional moving supplies to ensure that your items are secure during transit. “Professional movers have the training to ensure your things are packed and loaded correctly, especially heavy and bulky valuables,” notes Move.org.
Turner Moving & Storage’s team is trained to handle fragile items with care as a certified ProMover by the American Trucking Association: Moving & Storage Conference. We were also honored to be inducted into the Napa Business Hall of Fame in 2024. We have the skills and know-how to handle even the most delicate possessions. “We’ve spent decades perfecting our process for safely moving even the most fragile items,” highlights our CEO, Randy Turner.

The process of filing a claim usually involves submitting a detailed inventory of the damaged or lost items, providing evidence, and following the specific guidelines laid out by the moving company. WikiHow states, “Most moving companies will provide a claim form for you to complete and submit to them for review via mail. You must file the claim form within nine months of the mover’s delivery date for the claim to be recognized and processed.”
At Turner Moving & Storage, we have an established procedure for filing claims. Customers can get support through their well-defined process by contacting Wheaton World Wide Van Lines. It is best to reach out as soon as possible. The most effective time to let them know about any damage is during unloading by communicating with your team leader. “Our team is here to support you in the rare event of any damage, with a smooth claim process,” assures our CEO, Randy Turner.

Long-distance moves in the Napa Valley area often have rules and restrictions relating to items that cannot be transported, timing, and legal requirements. This includes restrictions on transporting perishable goods, hazardous materials, cosmetics, and other interstate regulations based on your destination state. Move.org states, “A professional mover will never be able to move hazardous materials on your behalf, simply because it is too huge a liability.” For licensing, it is required that your movers, or their van line, holds a USDOT license. Depending on what state you are moving to, they may also need an MC license.
Turner Moving & Storage, being a Certified ProMover and a member of the California Moving & Storage Association, adheres to all the legal and industry standards. Your dedicated moving specialist can provide detailed guidance on any restrictions or rules that apply to your specific move, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free experience. “Our team stays up-to-date on all regulations so your long-distance move is fully compliant,” says our CEO, Randy Turner.
