How to Pack Books

When you are moving, you want to make sure your books don’t lose a cover in the process. That is why we’re using our moving expertise to make this video guiding you through the process step by step.

The best way to start packing books is to sort them by size. This will streamline packing, making it an easier process for you. One thing to keep in mind is that books are heavy, so if you are using boxes, make sure they are relatively small in size to avoid extremely heavy boxes.

If you have an extra rolling suitcase, you might be surprised to find out that they are a really convenient tool to transport books. They are sturdier than boxes, have plenty of room, and are super easy to roll to and from the moving truck.

Whatever vessel you choose, it is important to pack your books by weight. Packing your heaviest books first, your medium-weight books next, and your lightest books on top. Additionally, you want to make sure you are using a variety of packing positions in order to pack the most efficiently.

Whether they are spine down, standing up, or flat on their back, you have to bring Tetris to life by filling as much space as possible. If you do have gaps, fill them with packing materials or softer items like your own clothing or towels. Once the box is filled up, make sure you secure it with double layers of tape.

If you’re still unsure about packing books, be sure to consider getting packing help from your movers. Professional movers are experts in minimizing potential damage to all of your belongings.
